Hi Brother and Sister Hiatt!
 
This is Elder Jackson in Kingsland Georgia! I just wanted to email you and let you know how awesome it's been having your son as my companion! I've learned a lot from him, he's a great missionary! We're doing a lot of great work here, and everyone down here loves him! This is a great area to start (or in this case, resume) a mission.
 
I hope all is well with you, and thank you so much for letting us have your son here in the Florida Jacksonville mission for a year and a half! He is going to touch a lot of lives!

Week 6: Última Semana no CTM

Hello family and friends, I took a picture this week. I don´t have any way to get it onto the computer, so I will try to send it next week. A few things to note about this picture: * I am wearing a suit. Some of you said that I would wear a suit about 12 times during my whole mission. Following expectations of the CTM, I wear a suit every Sunday and Wednesday for church and the temple. I have worn it 12 times already, and will wear it again tomorrow. * The clock of the building is in 24 hour time. This is Brazil, where things are a little different from the USA. Times are written in 24 hour time (but said in 12 hour am/pm time). Fasts go during dinner and breakfast and end at lunch. Cars can make left turns from the right lane right in front of another car in the left lane about to go straight. (I did see this happen once.) * My watch. Week 20: Algumas Conversas

Hello, family and friends, In the mission, you get to hear some weird things sometimes. Here are a few conversations that happened this week, transcribed as accurately as I can remember. Conversations in Portuguese have english translations provided. Conversa 1: Andando com o meu companheiro Eu: Eu ouvi falar que essa outra ala da missão fecharia. O que você conhece disso? (Me: I heard that this other ward in the mission would close or something. What do you know about this?) O Élder Bulkley: Provavelmente não fechará. Eles não gostam de fechar completamente. ... (Elder Bulkley: It probably won't close completely. They don't like to close areas completely. ...) Mais 15 minutos ... (15 more minutes...) ... Por isso sou grato que não preciso bater meu cérebro.
